CROSSFIT COMMITTED

An English-speaking personal trainer in Prague

Yes, we coach in English. Every coach here speaks it, Joey is American, and about half the room is from somewhere other than the Czech Republic.

But we're not a studio where you rent an hour of someone's time and go home. You start with a coach, so nobody watches you learn. Then you train in small coached classes where the same coaches still watch every rep, plan your food with you and scan your body on the InBody to prove it's working.

Three ways to train with a coach here

All three start with the same free Kickoff Strategy. Which one fits is something we work out together, with your InBody numbers on the table.

One on one forever, or a coach in a small group?

A good personal trainer is worth every crown in the first weeks, when every movement is new and you can't see what you're doing wrong. That's why every program here starts with coached sessions before you ever see a class.

After that, most people don't need someone counting their reps for an hour. They need three things: someone who fixes their technique before it turns into an injury, a plan for food they can actually follow, and a reason to show up on a Tuesday in February.

A coached class of 8 to 12 covers all three. The coach still sees your third rep go wrong. Every workout is scaled to you through the Level Method, a licensed system that tracks 15 areas of fitness in an app. And the room notices when you're missing, which is the one thing no private trainer can sell you.

What to look for in any personal trainer in Prague

The list we'd hand a friend who lives on the other side of the city.

  • They assess you before they train you. Injuries, goals and real numbers like body fat and muscle, not a guess from looking at you.
  • They measure more than your weight. When it works, fat goes down and muscle goes up, and the scale can't see either.
  • They talk about food. Training alone rarely fixes weight. Nutrition drives most of the result.
  • They coach in the language you think in. If that's English, the cues during a heavy lift need to be in English, not just the small talk at reception.
  • They plan for the weeks you can't come. Travel, a sick kid, a deadline. A good coach plans around your calendar, not against it.
  • The gym is on your way. If it's more than twenty minutes from home or work, be honest about how often you'll really go.
  • They tell you what they can't do. If someone promises a six-pack by summer, keep looking.

We built our programs around that list. If you want to see how, the free Kickoff Strategy is 45 minutes and comes with your own InBody scan.

What members say about the coaching

“An English speaking gym where you get an excellent personal approach, nutrition plan based on your body fat/muscle measurements, progress tracking in a nice app and much much more. The place is easily accessible, clean and friendly. Highly recommended.”

Gym owner, Joey, is super knowledgeable and approachable, and takes a keen interest in everyone's personal development and success which is amazing. Highly recommend.”
Chris Syvertsen · member · Google review
“Friendly individual approach, professional team, speaking both Czech and English. Doesn't matter if you are young or older, slim or not so slim, this is a gym for all! If you are not able to do anything, no problem to be given a different exercise, after injury or if you might have a disability to do certain moves, so don't worry about anything and come. YouTube does not tell you "hey, straight back" or "hey, that is not good, do it this way to be safe". The coaches pay attention to those who exercise, so I know I am safe.”

Questions people ask before they start

Do your trainers speak English?
Yes. All coaching here runs in English, and several of our coaches speak Czech too. Joey is American, and about half our members come from outside the Czech Republic.
Can I train one on one only?
Yes. Our fully one-on-one option is two private sessions a week for nine weeks with your own trainer, plus a nutrition plan, a weekly InBody scan and a direct line to your coach. We only run it for two people at a time, so ask at your Kickoff Strategy whether there's a spot.
How much does a personal trainer cost at CrossFit Committed?
Each program is one all-in price that covers coaching, classes, nutrition and scans, with no joining fee. You get the exact number at your free Kickoff Strategy, once we know your goal and whether we can honestly help. Payment can be split into installments. Fair warning: this is a fully coached program, not the cheapest gym in Prague.
Do you train people at home or in the office?
No. Coaching happens at our gym in Žižkov, where the equipment, the InBody and the rest of the room are.
I'm over 40 and haven't trained in years. Is a personal trainer the right start?
A coach is exactly the right start, which is why nobody here begins in a class. Your first sessions are with a coach, technique comes before load, and every workout is scaled to your body on the day. Most of our members started from zero, many of them in their forties and fifties.
Can you work around a bad back or an old injury?
Tell us about it at the Kickoff Strategy. We've coached people around bad backs, knees and shoulders since 2011, and a coach adjusts every exercise you can't do yet. If something needs a doctor or a physio first, we'll tell you.
Where do you train?
At Hartigova 1704/136, Prague 3 - Žižkov, behind a courtyard gate. The Ohrada tram stop is two minutes away and you can park in the courtyard.
