Founded in 2011, CrossFit Committed is Prague’s original CrossFit gym. We’re here to help people become fitter, healthier, and more confident — while being part of something bigger than just a gym.

Our coaching team brings years of experience and their own unique styles, but one thing’s the same across the board: we care about your progress.

Joey Scafidi

I’ve been coaching CrossFit since 2010, and in that time I’ve worked with everyone from Olympic athletes to people who were told they’d never be able to train again. My job — and my favorite part of it — is proving to people that they’re stronger than they think.
I hold my CrossFit Level 3, but what matters more is that I know how to make classes fun, tough, and worth showing up for. You’ll get coached to our standards, hopefully laugh a little, and maybe even get called out if you’re trying to sneak by with half-reps:)
When I’m not in the gym, I’m usually with my two daughters, experimenting with something in the Dutch oven, or throwing a tennis ball for my Labrador, and our gym mascot,Tuna.

I discovered CrossFit while living in Switzerland, and it completely changed my life. Not only was it a great way to stay active, but it also helped me meet incredible people and form lasting friendships. From the very first workout, I fell in love with the energy, the community, the challenge and the pain.

That passion led me to become a CrossFit coach because I wanted to help others experience the same joy and transformation I found. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible benefits of CrossFit—but I’ve also seen how injuries can hold people back. That’s why I’m dedicated to sharing my experience to help others train smart, stay healthy, and enjoy all the positives this amazing sport has to offer. CrossFit Committed is my second family, place I am really looking forward to go and always happy to see you around.

I started my journey with Crossfit back in 2016, right here at Crossfit Committed. Before that I mostly played team sports, ran (basically jogged) quite a bit, and worked out at home. I was never a fan of globo gyms (in the past at least), so when I was looking for a better strength and conditioning option than just working out at home, CrossFit seemed like a suitable answer, especially that it was done in groups, just like in team sports I used to play. I remember when I first walked into the box, I knew was hooked immediately. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I have been practicing CrossFit every since, day in and day out. 


In my professional life, I worked in software development, mostly in management. Amongst the main responsibilities I would have in my positions, was mentoring and coaching people on my teams, guide them through their development and helping them realise their potential. Nothing brought me more joy than seeing them grow and succeed and excel in their careers. So when the opportunity to coach at CrossFit Committed came up, I knew it would be a good match, because as in my day job, helping our members develop and grow their skills and do things they thought they couldn't do, brings so much joy to my heart.


David Arneil

I had joined a few regular gyms, but I wasn’t tracking progress, and my enthusiasm waned pretty quickly. In 2012, I was introduced to Joey’s gym in Prague, and in CrossFit, I found both a methodology and a community that inspired and motivated me to keep showing up. After many years as a member, I took a leap and completed my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate course in 2022. Since then, I’ve really enjoyed coaching and last year earned the CrossFit Level 2 Trainer credential. There’s always more to learn, and I look forward to developing my skills and improving as a coach.

Janos

For over a decade, Janos has been the quiet force that keeps our CrossFit community thriving. Always working behind the scenes, he ensures the gym remains a clean, functional, and welcoming space for everyone.

No task is too big or small, whatever needs to be done, Janos is there, taking care of it with dedication and pride. His hard work often goes unnoticed, but our gym simply wouldn’t be the same without him. And beyond that? He’s also one of the strongest athletes in the gym!

I've been doing sports all my life. At school I started to race in swimming, gymnastics and

athletics. I've always been looking for any sporting activity to give me energy.

I got to CrossFit in 2016 when I was looking for a program that should help me to get into shape

as soon as possible and I will not be bored after the first class. After the first hour I fell in love

with CrossFit. I love the variety of moves we focus on, ranging from gymnastics, weightlifting,

running, also climbing to strongman movements.

In addition, CrossFit Committed is an incredibly friendly community where we all do the same, experience

the same pain and joy, and encourage each other.

What I enjoy the most about coaching is passing on my own experience and helping others to

improve their technique so that they enjoy the WOD as much as possible and enjoy the

movement itself.

My most favourite crossfit words are: "NO REP" ;-)

Those who would like to experience some early hardcore training and practice with me, just

show up in the gym, Thursdays at 6AM ;-)
