Step 2. Private training.

At CrossFit Committed we’re not just a group exercise class. We’re a school of fitness and we’re excited and ready to lead you on your journey to a better you. We require all new people to attend private training sessions or join one of our programs for beginners.

During the private training sessions, your coach will work with you to prepare you for our group classes by taking you through our specially designed private lessons that will introduce you to all of the movements, in a safe manner, that you’ll see in an ordinary class. Many of the movements that we do in CrossFit look completely different than those that you’ve seen in a normal gym and this is the best way that there is to learn them.

Another way is to join one of our programs for beginners, like the “6-week challenge”. You will start with easier movements and lower intensity in a small group environment, where a dedicated coach will be assigned to a small group of athletes. In the beginning, you will focus on conditioning and core strength. The more difficult techniques will come later, when your body is ready for it.

CrossFit is hard. It’s hard because A LOT of our movements come from the sports of Olympic weightlifting and gymnastics. Spending time with a coach either in private training or a small group setting will help you to learn those movements properly. You will enjoy the process and your progress will come much faster when your technique is on point. It also helps the coaches to work around your movement limitations and reduce the risk of injuries.

Just like you wouldn’t go to a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school and expect to compete with the veterans on your first day, the same holds true at CrossFit Committed. We need to ensure that you’re knowledgeable of our movements and that you can execute them properly.

You’ll also learn about scaling, intensity, nutrition and mobility during the initial phase of your training.

Step 3. Group classes

Once you’re competent in the CrossFit movements, you are free to begin group classes at full speed.

During group classes, you’ll push yourself and sweat it out with like-minded individuals, as you compete with yourself (and others, if you choose) for rounds, time, points, and glory. You will reach new physical and emotional levels you didn’t think were possible, and you will undoubtedly find yourself with a new social and support network, who will help you on your continued path to greater health and happiness.
